That Thing Called Sleep and My Most Recent Accident

Alright, so lately I've started on the Freelance path to success..... Ok maybe that is a bad way to start this off. Lately I've been trying out a new way to live my life and still make money and survive in this money driven world.....yeah not feeling that either. Alright last go at this. Two weeks ago I decided that it would be better for me to try having a more travel based job(s) which includes but not limited to freelance video editing, merchandising, independent contractor in the IT field, etc. It's a more difficult way of life especially starting out but it should all pan out at some point. I signed on with two companies that will give me jobs and basically set the pace for the next years to come. I don't want to put a time limit on it because that seems delusional. In my new pursuit I've learned that I suck at getting up before 10:30AM if have no where to go the next day and I'm even worse at going to bed before 1AM. It seems like I'm falling into the clutches of insomnia some nights and other nights it's just me trying to finish everything I can before falling asleep because, I know I'm going to wake up late in the day and then rush to try and get things done before typical companies close.

It's amazing the funny things that happen at night.  Which reminds me of the minor car accident I was in on my way back from AWA to my friends house on Sunday night.(ok so really bad segue just to tell this story but hey what can you do) It was a dark and stormy night on I-85 N and the cars where all around us (dramatic huh) the construction on the side of the road was slowing down our progress and making the people around me drive erratic. I watched the eb and flow of the cars around me as if my car was the moon. Then as the car in front of me began to brake I applied my brakes, only to feel a sudden jolt from the rear of the car push the car forward in one not so smooth motion. My passengers all jumped and I heard the cutest response anyone could ever hear from such a thing. "What was that?!," I heard my friend in the seat beside me exclaim in utter surprise. I stifled a laugh and then with all my concentration on not laughing said,"we just got hit." We had to trek down a short 3 mile stretch of the highway to get to a safe point so that we could pull over and assess the damage. I got out and the car that hit us pulled in front of us and parked. I ran down to check on her and then went to go check on my own vehicle. Relieved at my luck that she only hit the trailer hitch receiver which is the strongest point on my car. I ran back and attempted to exchange information with the woman. Which was entertaining since it was raining and the best thing I had to protect my phone from the rain was a plastic bag that just blew in the wind. (I'll leave the rest of that conversation for the insurance company to know.) After getting all that taken care of I spent a few minutes checking over everyone to make sure they were fine and then we drove to the nearest restaurant to get food since we hadn't eaten dinner yet. At the restaurant I was worried that the car might not fully make it back to my friends house because we started having idling problems with it; a possible result of the accident but I'm not laying any claim to knowing the inner workings of these newfangled cars which run on computers and sensors and all sorts of crazy magic. (I miss the old cars with the wires, cables, and other various physical connections to the wheels, throttle, and brakes. These days driving is less an experience and more a means to an end.) We ate and then drove the rest of the way back to my friends house which was luckily less eventful then the first portion. I realize now that there were so many more things I could have said during that incident but hey who's counting. Luckily it was just the car that got hurt and not a person or an animal.

So anyways that ends that story which brings me back to the beginning of my reason for typing this post. I have to be up at 7:30 AM and it is now 1:30AM which means not enough sleep to be had for what I have to do and I'm not actually tired yet. Yes I know I could turn over and close my eyes or read one of my new comic books or something like that but I find it more relaxing to get thoughts out of my head and written down for people to judge me on. (I'm a messed up individual I know) These days I spend more time thinking about how people see me and less on how I want to be seen in the eyes of the world (not that the world cares but more or less the egotistical drivel that I've grown accustom to since high school.) After proofreading this to make sure it makes enough sense that you'll get the gist of what I'm trying to say. (I feel like writing these post makes me a better speaker since I'm finding synonyms for words and definitions to make sure I'm spelling stuff right. Guess that's the perfectionist in me showing through).

I blame insomnia for this one.....

Day 1-2 AWA-con

So I was going to post this yesterday but I figure beginning of day 3 is still with time frame. So let us see what all I can remember.

Day 1: spent way to much money way to fast didn't realize it till I check to see if I could afford a Dvd set that I wanted which was $90. Went to a few panels that I enjoyed but other then thatvi was in the dealers room and the artist alley.  The panels were the best I mostly went to prop building panels on both days but more on that in day 2. The prop destressing panel was great I'm a fan of the guys that build the props.

Day 2
Woke up slowly got dress quickly. I cosplayed at Randel Oland from Pumpkin Scissors (you can Google/Bing him). 3 people knew who I was. The only photos of me were by my friends which was nice of them. Leatherworking panel was amazingly useful I now know how I'm going to fix my belt. So that it works better (velcro sucks). Metalless armour panel was entertaining but none informative since the materials talked about can all melt in a hot car. The sculpting class was great I now know what it takes to make things look amazing and the details you can get with improve tools. Soul Eater podcast was hilarious I might post up a clip from that on my YouTube channel if I do then ill link it over for you guys/gals to see. Went to a "rave" where I danced kinda felt like cas from supernatural cuz the Randel Oland outfit has a trench coat and I hugely suck a social engagements (curse of antisocialness: -20 to people all skills). Around 4am Sunday the "rave" stopped and I decided to head back to the hotel room to get 3 and a half hours of sleep before day 3 schedule started.

last few months..... and the sad reality of missing AWA

OK so i don't know where i left off with my update on my life last thing i remember talking about on here end up being told to my mom and i got a whole lecture on it because the person that read this doesn't realize that this is only my thoughts mixed with fact stirred in a blender few a few hours and the poured into a nice neat package for all to read. But anyways as all things go update for the past little while.
June or July I got a job with the city as a Summer Grounds Helper, it was cool while it lasted but then end of summer comes as it always does and the guy i worked with up there said that if i wanted to i could head over to the local job location facility and fill out an application there and then someone from the city would call and say they wanted me to work with the city and i'd continue working. The only reason for doing this extension of work was because they liked how well i work and how much i do on my own, plus they wanted me to stay just in-case i did get the job that i had applied for with the city. Well that was all well and good pay didn't change any nor the hours but that stuff doesn't bother me i had a reason to get up and go someplace for a few hours a day. well about a week or two ago they hired a new guy who has 4 years of schooling plus 4 years of actual landscaping experience, also all well and good. They told me during the first few weeks of the extension of work that if i didn't get the permanent job with them then when they hire the new guy and he starts working they'd tell me the week before and i'd not work during his first week. Well they never told me when he would begin or not and i actually ended up working during the guys first week of work, i guess they liked my work with them so much they didn't want me to leave; yet curiously they didn't want me to stay. well i dont mind any of what happened big whoop some other shumck got something i wanted and hes getting paid the big bucks oh well.

well for those of you that dont know, which would be a lot of the readers of this, i'm into many card games and a few board games so i spend a lot of my money on those extensions of hobbies, plus i'm into anime which i spend far less money on then i should be but i never neglect my need for anime, and i'm working in paintball, target practice, soon to be metal working (something i've wanted to do for a while now), wood craft (mainly boxes and other little nic-nacs for around the house), and whatever else i can get into without having to devote a ton of time toward.

in the next few weeks i should be getting a call from one company saying whether or not they'll hire me (hopefully they do) and more time hanging around the house.
Rain begins to fall outside while a lonely armour clad soul walks sadly wishing he had his brother beside him. Then in one loud grief filled sentence he yells,"NO FAIR SKY I'M THE ONE THAT WANTS TO CRY"......

BTW for those of you that got to go and those of you like me that didn't get to go Thursday marked the start of AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta). yes i sadly missed this splendid occasion to root myself deep into the warm nest of the greatest mass media addiction to ever grace the earth. -tear- -sad smile- My friend Vincey will hopefully send me pictures of AWA cuz i'm dying to see all the great things that happen there i miss AWA so much. 3 years is going to be to long but i will suffer through it and this time next year i shall party the night away at AWA 2009 and i shall be prepared -evil laugh followed by echo of evil laugh followed by echo of echo of evil laugh- ^_^ -tear- some times i amaze even myself.

XXXHolic (manga/anime)- which i have just recently gotten the chance to start reading is an amazing series which i shall continue. I promise myself that i would have read more of it by now but alas i have not been able to find more then the 8 minute wait for the banana split jr. at sonic to be delivered to the car so that i might read more of one of the craziest but ever so slightly intellectually enhancing series that is know as XXXHolic.

yeah OK i'm weird but you have to say i'm quite funny ^_^
